Message	some friction associated with that movement. It is called "windage" when the crank has to cut through the oil in the sump. All the lifters, etc ride in the oil. Imagine taking a spoon and stirring moasses, now imagine using the same spoon and stirring water. Which is easier to do? Same sort of thing.
